I think this is probably the most frequent question we get heading towards the weekend. We get calls of customers who their mariachi has cancelled last minute. For the most part it is hard to find a last minute mariachi. I highly recommend getting some sort of agreement/contract on file. Either by meeting the manager in person or through email. Verifying their website is up par. With recent videos showcasing live performance.
The cost depends on the number of members, quality and destination? A traditional mariachi has the following instruments : trumpets, violins, harp, guitarron, and guitar typically an average of 10 members. Its custom to have a mariachi band of 5 members. In order to have the basic instruments you need at least 4 members.
On average a 5 piece mariachi cost $325-$400 per hour. Anything less than 4 people its not consider a mariachi but a trio. Missing essential instruments. A trio, are averaging $180 but are only available as trio during the weekdays.
A 6 piece mariachi, one the most common are ranging from $375-$450 per hour.
A 7 piece mariachi ranges from $450 to $500 per hour. Seven member mariachi band is probably the most common package. As it gives that mariachi a fuller sound. Making wedding reception sound full. Its not to small or to big size. This package is common for sweet 16, weddings, and hall events.
A 8-10 piece mariachi is ranging from $500 to $700+ per hour. This group size are rare but can be found performing at restaurants that have live mariachi. The sound is exceptional and the level of music ability, knowledge, is superb.
Always have a paper trail either through email, text, or paper. Make sure the mariachi you are hire matches the name in the contract and the amount of members. Most mariachis now have some type of online presence either through website, facebook, or youtube.
Mariachi Ausente de Los Angeles accepts all major credit cards as a deposit. We also take deposit payments through Zelle, Paypal, and Venmo. Their will be a 3.5% increase if the rest of the amount is paid the day of through Paypal or Visa. Its a charge done by 3rd party not the mariachi. Personal Checks will not be accepted the day of event. Cashiers Checks are okay.
Weekends are Mariachis busiest days. After 3pm on a weekends most mariachis have a min of 2 hours. Anything before noon or weekdays can be negotiable as far as 1 hour or a “Serenata” of 7 songs.
Weddings and sweet 16 booked as far as a year in advance for the prime time frame of 4-7pm on Saturdays. The better the sound quality of the mariachi the sooner you should book for your special event.
We do play at Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens every Taco Tuesday. Our performance starts at 7:30pm to 10pm at Bike Restaurant. Free entrance.
Sundays Mariachi at Sushi Loco Pomona Restaurant @ 1pm and 3pm.
